Not dated, approx 1880s. 534pp. Good/None. Brown cloth boards, some rubbing and bumping to edges, slight fraying to top of spine, slight mottling. Contents clean and tight but for minor spotting/soiling, slight splitting, a couple of small tears. A collection of essays by the likes of M Longfield, George C Broderick, C Wren Hoskyns, George Campbell, T E Cliffe Leslie, Julius Faucher, R B D Morier, M Emile De Laveleye and C M Fisher. Studies of agricultural land tenure in Ireland, England, India, France, Russia, Prussia, Belgium, Holland and the USA. The Cobden Club was founded in 1866 following the death of the politician Richard Cobden, a great advocates of laissez faire capitalism and globalisation, and was devoted to the defence and diffusion of his ideas about free trade.
