About the Author
David Emerald personally lives the daily responsibilities of type 2 diabetes. His experience dealing with his health challenges motivated David to apply the wisdom of his first book, The Power of TED* (*The Empowerment Dynamic), to diabetes as a health empowerment story.
David builds over 30 years of leadership development, speaking, and team facilitation and is an executive coach on the faculty of the U of Notre Dame, Mendoza College of Business Executive Education Program. He is sought after for practical, relevant tools to leave drama behind while embracing a more positive approach to life's challenges by sharing his innovative behavior change model - TED* (*The Empowerment Dynamic™).
Scott E. Conard, MD, DABFM, FAAFP, is an author and speaker, in addition to having 25 years of clinical practice and research. Dr Conard is dedicated to working with healthcare providers, corporations and individuals to add years to their life and life to their years by empowering them to take control of their health.
Currently he is the Chief Medical Officer of ACAP Health and Holmes Murphy & Associates where he works with corporations, the public sector, and healthcare providers to create systems that ensure high value for all employees.
Dr. Conard has been active on the Board of the North TX Chapter of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and is the 2012 President, in addition he is on the 2012 ADA National Committee on Prevention. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Medicine. He is board certified in Bariatric Medicine, and in Behavioral Sleep Medicine and a Certified Diabetic Educator. He remains active as an Associate Clinical Professor at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School Depart of Family Practice and Community Medicine.
Dr. Conard is a graduate of the University of South Florida Medical School and has studied business and management at the University of Dallas School of Business.
