Red cloth cover clean, bright and unworn; unclipped jacket has chip across top spine and a few edge tears & rubbing hints inc. an internally closed chip repair to top front edge, also quite grubby in places, tanning spots and tanning strip to back, will add protective sleeve when ordered however because of text. This reprints talks by virtually every eminent cultural figure of the day on every topic under the Sun, includes famous Bertrand Russell vs Father Copleston discussion on existence of God, talks by T.S.Eliot, Isaiah Berlin, Nicholas Pevsner, Max Beerbohm, astronomer Fred Hoyle, Thomas Mann on Chekhov and poems by Stevie Smith, William Plomer and V.S.Pritchett (who also has a chat with Graham Greene and Elizabeth Bowen on 'The Artist in Society'.
