It is also a photographic essay essentially done for Americans after World War II, during the occupation. . Its general subtitle is on the title page, reading: " To the GI's, sailors and marines who's bravery and skill as fighting men has been amply proven once and again in Korea. this little book is dedicated with the hope that it serves to make a few minutes of their leave more amusing and profitable." . *** This work graphically shows many aspects and traditions of Japan and her people. Including: dress, sports, customs, dress, sights, arts, dance, nude entertainment, Sumo, Kabuki theatre & so much more. . *** THE AUTHOR: Bristol first published this title just after the end of World War II, in 1948. It subsequently went through a few later reprints. . The author published similar photographic guide books on Korea, Bali around the same time, i.e. 1947-1950]. . This is the second printing of the First Edition. . *** Color photos are posted to our website. . *** CONDITION: The book is bound in the publisher's red cloth spine over pictorial boards, with the original unclipped dust jacket. The jacket shows an bit of usual corner, edge & spine wear, a few minor mends and the like, with dustiness, now preserved in a Mylar protector. . The contents are pristine clean without issues. . *.
