A truly lovely hardback book, with gorgeous gilt decoration on the front board and spine, black title impressions in block gilt, beautifully shaped boxes both on the front board and spine. No jacket. The book is in reasonably good condition. No published date to be seen, however personal pen and ink inscription on first blank page is dated Xmas 1910. On inside front board, is a name sticker, with the name Wilfrid Mallord Turner, which could be a relative to the painter, J.W. Turner, I have no actual proof this is the case, but it was a suggestion made from where the book came from in Surrey. The book is in reasonable condition, normal wear and marks apply consistent with use and age. lovely gilt edging to top edge of papers. The boards are faded and worn around the edges, please see photo. On the inside back board is the bookseller's label, G.J. Glaisher, Bookseller 58, Hight Street, Notting Hill Gate, London. 302 + pages all intact, all pages, text and wonderful illustrations are in good, reasonably clean, readable order. A really nice book that is worth preserving for future generations.
