Book Club edition [the book was originally published by Cresset Press in 1943]. ***Very good in red cloth-covered boards with black titles to spine. Corners of boards very slightly bumped. No foxing. Pages clean. Spine tight. ***In a very good colour illustrated dustwrapper. Edges of dustwrapper very slightly rubbed and creased. Head and tail of spine of dustwrapper creased, nicked and rubbed. Very small loss and creasing to head and tail of spine of dustwrapper. Tiny loss and rubbing to corners of dustwrapper. Three tiny closed tears to bottom edge of front panel of dustwrapper. Three tiny closed tears to top edge of rear panel of dustwrapper. 3mm closed tear and associated crease to bottom edge of rear panel of dustwrapper. Rear panel of dustwrapper slightly discoloured (being white background). No fading. Spine and front panels of dustwrapper bright. 190mm x 130mm. 152 pages. ***'There will doubtless be many more books published on Japan, but no other writer has had John Morris's unique opportunities of actually observing the reactions of the Japanese people during the eight months following the attack on Pearl Harbour.
