8vo. Boards (front detached, rear nearly so, both present) appear originally etched with an acid treatment, resulting in a mottled surface, similar (only) to catspaw. Gilt chain border to boards, which are scuffed and rubbed. gilt spine and partially perished red leather title label. Very nice grey, red, white and black stone-marbled endpapers, bordered with gilt dentelles. xv(i), 405pp. Head and foot of spine chipped. Text tight and clean. Old ink inscription, top of title page listing name, and where buyer purchased this volume. Boards detached, but interior Very Good.
