Add to basketThis is a beautiful mint-condition copy of Treasure Island, the 1883 classic by the Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894). It is a coming-of-age story of buccaneers and buried gold, in which Jim Hawkins discovers a map and sails on the Hispaniola in search of Captain Flint's treasure, braving mutiny led by the charismatic and ruthless pirate Long John Silver.
This copy was published by the Franklin Library in 1981.
It is leather-bound, navy blue and gold with the pages rimmed in gold on all sides.
305 pages--it's heavy.
Bound-in silk bookmark.
Illustrated by the American artist N.C. Wyeth.
There is a small transparent bookplate on the inside front cover, which you can cover with your own.
But it appears that the original owner didn't read it--it is in pristine condition.
