Leather covers. 1 leaf table of contents oddly paginated 260 top verso+283; early small label to front pastedown 'Treasury Library/ Financial Room', marbled endpapers and edges, internally clean, tight and unmarked; front board detached, rest of covers with gilt ruled edge lines is quite surface rubbed in places, 1 cm chip across bottom spine and small chip top spine by top back joint. This edition seems to be remarkably rare, none appearing on major web-sites at time of listing, while a number of 1805 1st editions do so, this has 283 pp. as opposed to 268 in 1st ed., however p.268 in this edition occurs in middle of solid text so unclear if length has actually been extended or text reset. Author died in 1808 so is unlikely to have changed much himself. While 'Letter to the King' has been dropped from title (understandably given date), the text itself remains couched in letter form.
