Octavo, 389 pages, [10]; G; Fully bound leather with red/black labels and gilt lettering to banded spine; Boards have cracking along hinges with both boards detached, light bumping to corners and edgewear, light to moderate wear to front and back covers with abrasions and discoloration due to previous adhesive, and light to moderate wear to spine with toning, chipping to head/tail (moderate at tail), and rubbing to bands and labels; Textblock shows light age toning to edges and interior, adhesive remnants to both paste downs, and ownership penned to fep and preface. RWO. This copy belonged to William Anderson Pile (1829-1889), Brigadier General in the Union Army during the American Civil War and former Governor of New Mexico Territory. 1364812. Special Collections.
