He suggests that those who are discontented with their lot may seek a new fortune as colonists in the Americas or the East Indies. The ESTC notes that this work, though attributed to De Witt on the titlepage and bearing a frontispiece portrait of him, was actually authored by Dutch economist Pieter de la Court (1618-85).
