Prepared by 113 experts from 17 countries, the book covers neoplasms of the entire gastrointestinal tract, liver, biliary system, and exocrine pancreas. The book is organized according to ten groups of tumors. Each tumor is introduced with a concise definition and discussion of nomenclature, followed by a summary of what is known about its epidemiology, aetiology, clinical features, macroscopic and microscopic appearance, genetic susceptibility, genetic alterations, and prognosis and predictive factors. Distinctive features are further characterized through the inclusion of over 700 color photographs, numerous magnetic resonance and ultrasound images, charts, and CT scans.

The book provides an international standard for oncologists, gastroenterologists, and pathologists and will be an especially useful guide in the design of studies monitoring response to therapy and clinical outcome.
