32p. A blue staplebound softcover book in good condition. Edges faded; corners creased, tear in bottom of spine. Some small scuffs and paint spots on rear cover. Former owner signature on title page. Text clean and binding tight. The Black International No. 12. Denounces Catholic priests as immmoral and deceptive agents of the Vatican's self-interest. The "Black International" was a secret organization affiliated with the Vatican, primarily made up of Catholic aristocrats, whose aim was to protect the remaining temporal power of the Church in Europe. McCabe sees this organization as complicit in allowing facism to grow. McCabe was a former Franciscan priest who left the Catholic Church and became a vocal member of the anti-authoritarian Freethought movement. He wrote many anti-Catholic tracts, and was included among the thinkers G.K. Chesterton opposed in his book "Heretics.".
