Donald Shorter was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Pastor Roosevelt and Mary Shorter, and at the age of 12, Don was born again and accepted his call to ministry at the age of 18. While attending Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington, he met a beautiful young lady, the former Kathy Lynette Hill, who later became his wife in July 1974. Upon completion of college, Dr. Shorter embarked upon a highly successful secular radio and television broadcasting career as a television host on the Seattle, Washington ABC affiliates. However, his call to the ministry remained the impetus in his life, and in January 1987, with his family of four, Pastor Shorter founded Pacific Christian Center Church. Dr. Shorter received his masters in business administration in 1993, was ordained by Dr. Frederick K. C. Price in 1994, and received his doctorate of ministry in 1999. Each of these events has played a significant role in his success as a pastor. Today, under the oversight of Dr. Don and Kathy Shorter, Pacific Christian Center is a worldwide ministry that ministers to thousands each week through speaking engagements, radio and television broadcasts, regular church services, and business seminars. Through their teaching and faith-based outreaches, such as Real Dads in America, Kathy’s Kids, Excellence in Business, Men of Excellence, and Women of Wealth, the Shorters touch many lives. Dr. and Mrs. Shorter are the parents of three children--Monet, Dawnet, and Donald Jr.
