First published in 1950, this is fifth impression reissue of 1989. Some slight edge wear to top and bottom of jacket and spine, corners very very slightly bruised, not price clipped (£10.95), no inscriptions, internally clean tight and square, overall a vg+ copy, looks almost unread. 187pp. Two mysteries in one volume. 'Wanted, someone innocent' tells the story of Gillian Brayton, young, attractive and naive, who accepts a job in the home of an ex school friend and feels threatened by unknown evil. The second story, 'Last act', is a perceptive picture of two actresses, one of whom meets with a mysterious death Denis, her grandson, has been heard to threaten to kill her but the obvious solution is not always the right one. Quite scarce, even in this later impression.
