Lane is just beginning to enjoy this feature, and falling in love with a first century BC gladiator named Gannicus, when she discovers that the historical figures on the app have been kidnapped from their own times and enslaved by the app's creator. For Lane, what started as an uncomplicated way to pass the time turns into a fight to end this human trafficking, for the man she loves and others like him.
