About the Author
Norm Pattis, author of Taking Back the Courts - What We Can Do to Reclaim Our Sovereignty, is one of America s leading trial lawyers as a veteran of more than 100 jury trials, many resulting in acquittals for people charged with serious crimes, multi-million dollar civil rights and discrimination verdicts, and successful criminal appeals. The Hartford Courant describes his work as Brilliant and Audacious while iconic attorney F. Lee Bailey describes him as One of the Giants of the Profession and Part of a Dying Breed of Slash and Burn Trial Lawyers.
Norm founded and leads the Pattis Law Firm, a Connecticut-based criminal defense and civil rights firm which focuses on serious felonies including violent offenses, white collar crimes, sex offenses, drug crimes, and misconduct by lawyers, doctors, and government officials. Norm defends capital murder cases and has won federal civil rights verdicts for police brutality, false arrest, discrimination, malicious prosecution, and violations of rights including several million dollar discrimination verdicts. He has argued scores of criminal appeals in both State and Federal Courts.
Attorneys across the United States frequently associate Norm Pattis as trial counsel in high stakes cases in many jurisdictions and regularly refer their most serious New England criminal matters to the Pattis Law Firm. Norm worked with Gerry Spence, who describes Norm as One of the Best at Spence s Trial Lawyers College in Wyoming and as a faculty member for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA).
A frequent expert legal commentator for national media outlets including, among others, Fox News, NBC News, and the Today Show, Norm is a popular speaker, syndicated blogger, and relentless advocate for people who face powerful foes.
He lives in Connecticut with his wife Judy and owns a rural bookstore that has been operating since the 1890s.
