About the Author
David Lemberg, M.S., D.C., is a bioethicist, writer, and science journalist based in Southern California. David received his M.S. in Bioethics from Albany Medical College, having matriculated at the Alden March Bioethics Institute. In 2015/2016 David has been presenting his talk, “Creating a New Doctor–Patient Relationship”, to local community groups. He was the keynote speaker at The Molecular Convergence Conference in Tulsa, OK, and presented “Science Fiction Becoming Science Fact”. David was an invited speaker at the Conference on Communicating Science in Greenville, SC, and presented “Doing Science in a Pluralistic Society”. His invited talks highlight the five grand challenges facing science and society, specifically, energy, the environment, economics, education, and ethics. Most recently, David has provided expert commentary for articles in The Translational Scientist and Popular Science. David is the founding editor of LIVING WILL ADVANCE DIRECTIVE , an online publication focusing on health care policy and end-of-life decision making. He was co-founder and Executive Producer of SCIENCE AND SOCIETY, one of the first-ever Internet blogs/podcasts (2003-2012). David has interviewed more than 600 world leaders in the fields of health care policy, biomedical research, genetics and genomics, environmental conservation and sustainable energy, and science education, including Nobel Laureates, best-selling authors, and federal and state public policy makers. SCIENCE AND SOCIETY has been featured in IEEE Spectrum, SBS News (Society for Biomolecular Sciences), and in the cover story of the June 2006 issue of The Scientist. As founding editor of BIOETHICS TODAY, the online journal of the Alden March Bioethics Institute, David contributed articles on the Affordable Care Act, health care policy and the politics of health care, women’s rights, and bioethics as a force for change.
