About the Author
Steven V. Edelman, MD was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 15. From that moment, he intensely pursued a career in medicine, specifically focusing on diabetes. Dr. Edelman is Professor of Medicine at the University of California San Diego and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in San Diego. He is an internationally recognized authority on the treatment of diabetes with over 200 published articles, book chapters, and books. In 1995, he founded the nationally renowned nonprofit organization, Taking Control of Your Diabetes, which promotes education, motivation, and self advocacy for people with diabetes.
