Taking Sides (Paperback)

Paperback. As 'debates' rage about the fates of (mostly black and brown) refugees entering Europe, and targeted police violence sparks protests across the U.S., the ugly spectre of racism is visible on both sides of the Atlantic. Anti-racists are stepping up - but, particularly among white liberal activists, often with limited and sometimes counter-productive effects. Taking Sides is a critical response to the divisive debates within the left about anti-racist movement building. The essays are sharp interventions designed to force activists to rethink their positions. In the struggle against racist violence, there are no "outside agitators."
