This makes the upstream bandwidth-allocation performance independent of the network reach and enables sooner transmission of upstream packets. The book also reviews some of the major contributions in this field, and studies many challenges facing the decentralized scheme. Through extensive simulation, the performance of the decentralized scheme is evaluated in contrast with centralized schemes. About the Author

Ahmed H. Helmy received his B.Sc. in electrical engineering from BHIT, Egypt, in 2005, and his M.Sc. from KSU, Saudi Arabia, in 2012. As an assistant researcher, he participated in projects on next generation networks & systems. Currently, he has returned to the industry, working in research & development and in market & technology research.
