Tako Lends a Helping Hand

Tako is a helpful octopus, always willing to lend a hand. One day, her mother tasks her with finding some fresh limu for their lunch. Tako takes off in search of the limu, but becomes distracted when Crab asks for some help finding shells. Soon, Tako encounters another friend, and another, and another, all crying out for Tako's help! What will she do, she's always there to lend a helping hand, but she only has eight! Tako Lends a Helping Hand is a book about the importance of prioritizing and commitment. True friends are always there to help, but what happens when too many friends need a helping hand? Children will learn problem solving and teamwork to help them accomplish their goals, and they discover that through understanding and compromise, we can come to a solution that helps everyone!

Dani and Jenna Hickman are a mother-daughter team. Together, they developed the story and characters for their second book, Tako Lends a Helping Hand, following the success of their first book, How About A Pineapple? Dani enjoys working in a creative environment as a representative of The Madden Corporation. Fourteen-year old Jenna is a student at Pearl City High School where she participates in the Student Council, volleyball team, and Media Club. Dani, Jenna and their family reside on the west side of Oahu with three dogs, one cat and a flourishing garden. This is Dani's third book with Island Heritage.
