The Tale of Strong Roots

"The Tale of Strong Roots" is a gentle, heartwarming picture book that celebrates family, belonging, and the invisible threads that connect us across generations. Inspired by Ukrainian folklore and Canadian nature, this story follows little Mariyka as she arrives in a new country and learns to find strength and comfort in her 'inner roots.'

Guided by her wise Baba and a magnificent maple tree, Mariyka discovers that even when life changes and home feels far away, love travels with us. Through simple moments, warm illustrations, and a touch of magic, children learn that their roots are not tied to one place-they live inside their hearts.

Perfect for families navigating change, immigration, or big emotions, this story offers reassurance, cultural richness, and a sense of calm. With a special Science & Nature page about maple trees and a hands-on activity, it blends tradition, learning, and wonder for young readers.

This book is ideal for bedtime reading, classrooms, and multicultural collections. A meaningful gift for children ages 3-9.
