This book is a collection of three works by Jonathan Swift (Dean of St. Patrick's, Dublin) that was bound by the book owner using "The Home Book-Binder" patented May 5, 1874. Apparently these where a kit for binding loose signatures using cloth and paper boards, cloth spine and binding together using twisted wire. Amateurish but highly effective. The interior text has yellowed with age but there is no sign of foxing. The cloth is black and the papers of the boards is a green marbled pattern. There is corner bumping and edge wear. Owner's name inked on the title page. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Tall.
