5th printing hardcover in green cloth covered boards with bright gilt titles on spine and frt board. Some light sunning along head of frt board from chip in dust jacket. Former owner name in equine bookplate on fep, one short repaired fore-edge tear but no soil in the 192pp text. Mapped front end papers show the route of the trek. 23 stories told in first 'horse' person about the longest journey ever made by horses, from Argentina to Washington D.C. Book includes 17 soft pencil drawings by Caney (Robert). Unclipped original color illustrated dust wrapper has a .25" x 2.50" chip at head of frt panel that wraps around head of backstrip. Color loss at tips of cream background paper illustrated with two horseheads, one brown, one a brown and white pinto named Mancha and Gato.
