A Tale for Two (Paperback)

A Tale for Two by Mariam Radi is a gripping narrative set against the backdrop of Iraq, where Adam, raised under the cold and harsh hand of Jabar, struggles with the complexities of his identity and emotions. Loved by his mother, Asiya, yet tormented by his father's treatment, Adam's life takes a dark turn when he falls in love with Serapheem, a married woman. Their illicit affair leads to an unexpected pregnancy, setting off a chain of devastating consequences. Adam is an unreliable narrator determined to cast himself as the hero - despite his fingerprints being on every catastrophe that unfolds. This heart-wrenching tale explores themes of love, identity, and the heavy burden of family expectations, leaving readers questioning the true cost of honor and redemption.

Mariam Radi found herself in Iraq during the US invasion, her home in Baghdad reduced to rubble, compelling her to seek refuge in villages. Experiencing the war firsthand ignited her interest in public and international law, as well as the lives of the villagers who sheltered her during the bombardment. She pursued a Bachelor of Law and a Master's in Public and International Law. She embarked on writing a book at twenty-one to capture the intricacies of life in Iraq.
