The Tale of Two Wolves

A Meaningful Children's Book About the Battle Inside Every Heart

Every child feels anger. Every child has to choose, sometimes many times a day, between kindness and resentment, between calm and the storm inside. When young Justin runs to his grandfather, furious at a friend who has hurt him, the old man does not scold or lecture. He kneels down and tells a story passed through generations: the legend of the two wolves who live inside every one of us. One wolf is anger, jealousy, regret, and pride. The other is peace, kindness, hope, and love. The wolves fight every day. The wolf that wins is the one we feed.

A picture book to read with your child, and remember as an adult

'The Tale of Two Wolves' brings a timeless piece of Native American wisdom to life in a format children, parents, and grandparents can share together. Through Bettina Braskó's watercolor illustrations and a simple, lyrical text, the inner battle becomes visible, and choosing becomes a daily practice instead of an impossible task.

Perfect for:

• Parents and grandparents teaching values, emotions, and self-control
• Meaningful conversations about anger, choices, and kindness
• A thoughtful birthday or baptism gift for a child you love
• Mindfulness, character development, and spiritual wisdom for kids
• Sharing across generations: a story for ages 4 to 94

This is not a book to teach the rules of behavior. It is a book to open a conversation between a child and someone who loves them, about the wolves we feed inside. Add it to your cart and start the conversation tonight.

Louis Legrand is involved in several nonforprofit organizations that promote better education systems and children wellbeing. After the life-changing discovery of mindful activities such as yoga and meditation, Louis decided to work in crafting kids-oriented reading material. Having published several well-received books aimed at kids as well as adults working with children, he has now completed his first picture book in collaboration with illustrator Bettina Braskó. While the focus is no longer on mindful activities, Louis' goal is to craft engaging stories for children that promote the same values and ideas about mastering oneself with the power of the mind.
