Synopsis

Talk About The Monster is a children's book for children ages 2-6 and beyond. It tells a story of how a little child (girl) wakes up in the middle of the night to see her fear, the Monster, staring at her. She proceeds to go on a journey to conquer her fear by facing her fear and understanding it by describing it with words and working through a process. She finally comes to a place of peace and understanding.

About the Authors

Mistofer Christopher, Chris Miller, was born in New York City, the city that never sleeps and the city that always eats. He works as a freelancer teaching, tutoring, lecturing, and guiding tours throughout New York City and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He has worked approximately 20 years in the non-profit sector as well as volunteered as a teacher in communities locally and abroad in the Caribbean, South America, Middle East, & North Africa. He's been known to pick up a pen and write on paper, napkin, or brown bag before the thought disappears. "Talk About the Monster" represents his first work for children dealing with fear. His fears during childhood were Choo Choo, a subway train that lived in the basement and could slip under doors, wide faced clowns, and spiders. Other monsters include Paper and Clutter that grow, reproduce, and growl. He will also read the book: "Talk About the Monster" and is willing to talk to anyone about his/her monster. Mike Hogan is a father first and a freelance fine artist based in New York City. He is a visual artist specializing in jewelry and watch design. He attended the Baltimore School for the Arts and specialized in Visual Art. "Talk About The Monster" is the second book he has illustrated. Prior to this he illustrated "Shiny Old Penny." His jewelry has been featured in the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art gift shop and on the hands of beautiful brides-to-be as a promise. He enjoys painting hyperrealism and reading topics such as physics, math, history and science.
