About the Author
Cutting is a leading campaign director and communication consultant for non-profit initiatives, and currently serves as program director for Resource Media, a non-profit communications firm. He co-founded We Interrupt This Message, a national media strategy and training center. Hunter is the author of several studies on communications and reporting, and his articles have appeared in publications such as ColorLines, MediaFile, and Extra! Makani Themba-Nixon is Executive Director of The Praxis Project, an organization helping communities use media and advocacy to advance health equity and justice. Makani has published numerous articles and case studies on race, media, and policy advocacy. She is author of Making Policy, Making Change, and co-author of Media Advocacy and Public Health: Power for Prevention. powell, an internationally recognized authority in the areas of civil rights, civil liberties, race, poverty and the law, is director of the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity at Ohio State University, and among many others, has taught at Columbia University School of Law, Harvard Law School, University of Miami, American University, and the University of Minnesota Law School.
