Carrol ultimately discontinued creating his knots, stating only that they were 'but a lame attempt'.Arthur Burdett Frost (1851-1928) was an American illustrator celebrated for his humorous and dynamic drawings, and a frequent collaborator with Carroll. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart. Slight discolouration to spine and extremities. The odd minor spot of damp staining to front board. The odd slight handling mark, more so to rear board. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities. Hinges cracked, more so to rear hinge, with binding materials slightly exposed but holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with one or two spots and handling marks to fore edge. Very Good.
