Tangram heeft maar zeven stukjes en toch kun je er heel veel figuren mee leggen. Bijna alles is te verbeelden met tangram. De jongen in dit verhaal gelooft daar niets van, tot hij plotseling een kat maakt die erg goed lukt. Onder zijn handen ontstaat een hele wereld. Maar de kat blijft zo stil. Is hij wel gelukkig?

Ineens begreep ik de kat. ‘Jij wilt iemand om mee te spelen!’
De kat zei nog steeds niks.
Maar ik wist dat ik gelijk had.

Vastbesloten puzzelt de jongen een vriendje voor de kat. Maar dat is makkelijker gezegd dan gedaan…
