From the Publisher
Tankers have always been the vital link in the distribution of oil, but today with the advent of production using FPSO's, their role has become more important still. Whilst this new profusely illustrated book by Captain Valvis does not deal specifically with shuttle tankers, it does provide an invaluable general background to these complex vessels, and their operation. This book will therefore be extremely useful to anyone whose day to day work brings them close to tanker operations, even if superficially. There can be no substitute for a broad understanding of every facet of oil production and transportation and as far as tankers are concerned this is the only reference you are likely to need.
