About the Author

LAO TSE, literalmente �el Viejo Sabio�, fue un fil�sofo y escritor chino del que apenas se saben detalles y que pudo vivir entre los siglos VI y IV a. C. Seg�n la leyenda, era un alto funcionario imperial que march� al destierro hacia el oeste y, antes de desaparecer para siempre, dej� escrito el Tao Te Ching, una de las bases del tao�smo.
