Description:
First printing of the A. L.Burt edition, which is also the first reprint edition and was printed in 1915 and preceded by two printings of the original McClurg edition. The book is bound in dark green cloth with embossed white lettering on the front cover and spine. The white embossed border on the front cover is lightly rubbed. The spine is rubbed and its lettering is faded. The book has a black & white title page along with a frontis plate which has been adapted from the first edition. This edition also contains the dedication page. 401 pages plus six pages of ads at the rear.
Good condition. The front board is a little wobbly, and while the hinge is not exposed it is starting to crack. Owner's name and date, 1917, are inked on the front endpaper. Page 11 has a tiny edge tear at bottom of the blank margin. Seller Inventory # 46142
