Book #4 in the original series of 24 novels penned by Burroughs between 1912 & 1966. Originally published by McClurg in 1915, this is a Grosset & Dunlap reprint (no additional dates), in 394 pages with a spectacular black-&-white glossy frontispiece & internal pen-&-ink drawings by J. Allen St. John. Small 8vo has red cloth-covered boards, lettered in black to front & spine. Condition is Fair: basically a reading copy only. Binding secure, but cracked in a couple places. Pages moderately tanned, commensurate with age, but completely unmarked save for design cut into rear endpaper & mild dampstaining to bottom edges of some pages in front. some Exterior shows scattered soil & fading, rubbing to extremities & corner bumping, with fraying & slight loss. No DJ (missing). Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have on hand.
