Item description from seller

Albany: Printed for Whiting, Backus & Whiting; sold at their stores in Schenectady, Utica, and Canandaigua., 1804. (5½ x 3½ inches.) xxvi, [3], 30-264pp., [3] engraved plates. Bound in smooth tree calf with black and gilt-lettered black leather spine label, gilt ruling. Small defect to bottom edge of front cover; usual foxing. Overall, a handsome volume. This copy of this oft-reprinted classic with the early ownership signatures of H.M. Perrine, possibly a Reverend, and Gertrude Wells (1830). The engraved, captioned plates are especially attractive. The Albany printing form of Whiting, Backus & Whiting published the Albany Centenil newspaper, ultimately sold to Isaac Mitchell. (McMurtrie) Imprints 6090.
