About the Author
About the Authors Michael Toot lives in Seattle, Washington and is a senior program manager with a local software company. As a certified MCSE and MCP+I, Michael has been working with Microsoft operating systems since 1992. When he's not working or playing with software, he can be found reading, sailing, and writing fiction and nonfiction works. Eric Butow is the owner of E.E. Butow Services, a technical communications company based in Roseville, California. He has over 15 years experience using Intel compatible computers in the programming, graphic design, Web design, and technical writing fields. Butow has documented a wide variety of computer-related products and methods, including networking procedures, telecommunications hardware, software quality-assurance practices, and Java networking software. From 1997 to 1999, Butow was editor of Sacra Blue, the monthly magazine of the Sacramento Personal Computer Users Group. Butow holds a bachelor and master degree in speech communication from California State University, Fresno. He is currently studying for his A+ and MCSE+I computing certifications.
