Because of a Teacher, Volume II: Stories from the First Years of Teaching

Inspiration for Educators by Others Who Have Been There

In this latest volume in the popular Because of a Teacher series, George Couros sets out to ask seasoned educators a simple question: “What advice would you give to your first-year teacher self?” The answers from this diverse group of professionals are powerful, honest, and eye-opening. Their stories reflect expertise and vulnerability as they discuss what they wish they’d known when they started and share about the changes they’ve faced and the challenges still unfolding before them. Their thoughts and experiences serve as beautiful reminders that teaching, like learning, is an endeavor of continuous growth.

In volume I, George Couros wrote: “A teacher’s influence doesn’t stay in school. It goes out into the world and cannot truly ever be measured. Every student you inspire to do something great goes on to inspire others. There is no limit to your impact.”
