About the Author: Sheila & Letty Sustrin Ms. S. and Ms. L., as their former kindergarten and first grade students called them, are retired twin teachers from the Brentwood, New York School District. During 38 years of teaching, they always shared ideas with each other and even shared the honor of being Brentwood’s 1978 "Teacher of the Year." After retirement, they missed the interaction with youngsters. Wouldn’t it be fun to return to school and read stories to the children? What could they do to make the children laugh and be happy? All these questions led to the start of a new career. Ms. S. and Ms. L. decided to write a humorous picture book about a lovable teacher who wants to stay in contact with her former school and students. The twins continue to foster a strong bond with the children by involving themselves in school book fairs, holiday fairs and Reading Day. Sheila and Letty Sustrin reside on Long Island, N.Y. with their pet Scottish Terrier, Dundee, who makes them laugh ! with his mischievous antics.
