“Because I had a teacher, I have whole new worlds to explore. I discovered that what I can imagine, I can make real. And now I feel like I can do anything. Because I had you, I learned to believe in me.” —An excerpt from Because I Had a Teacher

Where would we be without teachers—those special people who inspire us, support us, and encourage us? Whether they’re an educator, a coach, or a mentor, this book is for them. To celebrate the worlds they open up for us and to thank them for the difference they make.

Told through the eyes of a grateful student, this touching gift book pairs sweet, lyrical lines with art of a bear and cub, showing how a teacher’s guidance fosters confidence, curiosity, resilience, and the courage to try again.

Perfect for Teacher Appreciation Week, end-of-year celebrations, or graduations, this keepsake is a beautiful way to say thank you—and to honor the quiet heroes who help shape who we become.
