The Teacher's Assistant, Vol. 1: Consisting of Lectures in the Catechetical Form; Being Part of a Plan of Appropriate Instruction for the Children of the Poor (Classic Reprint)

This book is a collection of lessons designed specifically for early readers to improve their reading skills and comprehension. The lessons take into account the fact that while many children can read words or even sentences, they have difficulty understanding what those words or sentences actually mean. The author believes it is essential to build a more profound understanding of basic words and ideas before progressing to more complex concepts. Separate sections of the book focus on teaching the Lord's Prayer, the Apostles' Creed, and the Ten Commandments, making this book a perfect choice for those who want to supplement their child's religious education at home.
