"The Teaching Bridge" is a new approach to an old problem - how to prepare, motivate and retain qualified part-time teachers, who make up more than a quarter of the teaching staff in four-year schools and half the staff in community colleges and technical schools. It is a tool part-time teachers can refer to before problems arise - in or out of the classroom.
The book also helps department heads (who hire part-time teachers) build stronger relationships with their part-time teachers, by making them part of the new-teacher orientation process.
The book includes teaching tools, educational resources, forms, teaching tips, and checklists new teachers can use to be more effective teachers. It walks new teachers through the process, from before the first class begins until the last test is graded and the final grades turned in.
