The first half of Reading and Language Arts is a step by step guide designed to teach young educators effective and proven strategies to teach reading, writing, and Language Arts with passion, and with creativity. The second half of Reading and Language Arts emphasizes the importance of becoming a High-powered middle school reading teacher. You will learn to design age appropriate, purposeful, and authentic learning opportunities for all learners, as well as engaging strategies to motivate students while also building classroom rapport. Each chapter in both sections contain; research based information about designing effective reading instruction, the importance of planning, examples of engaging activities, insightful strategies, tiered vocabulary, parent and home connections, pages for student reflections and note taking, and also suggested readings for both the teacher and students.
