About the Author: Anne Green Gilbert is Artistic Director of the Summer Dance Institute for Teachers, Creative Dance Center and Kaleidoscope, a modern dance company of children, founded in Seattle, Washington in 1981. At CDC, Anne teaches children age 2 months to 15 years and choreographs for Kaleidoscope. Anne also does residencies in elementary schools and workshops for teachers across the United States and abroad. She is an adjunct faculty member at Seattle Pacific University and Seattle University. Anne is author of Teaching the Three Rs Through Movement, Creative Dance For All Ages, and Brain-Compatible Dance Education as well as two videos, Teaching Creative Dance and BrainDance. Anne is the USA National Representative to Dance and the Child International and the recipient of numerous awards for teaching and service to the field of dance.
