Techniques for Engineering Genes (PB)

Uses a sequential approach to engineering genes. Explains how genetic material may be extracted from a variety of sources and how this DNA may be fragmented and purified. The techniques available are described along with the procedures that may be
employed. This leads to a description of how genes may be re-constructed and introduced back into the living system. Important ethical and regulatory issues are also discussed.
