About the Author
The author received his M.Sc.Eng. (Physics) from the Royal Institute of Technology (1977) and a Ph.D. in History of Science and Ideas from Uppsala University (1984). His international academic pursuits include study and teaching positions at the University of California, Berkeley; University of Pennsylvania; Churchill College, Cambridge; and MIT. He is married, with two sons and one grandson, and lives in Stockholm.
