About the Author

Tina Coleman is member specialist for the Membership Development office of the American Library Association. Coleman won the 2006 ALA Staff Achievement Award.

Peggie Llanes worked for many years at Christopher House, a Chicago day care and social services center, where she had extensive training in child development, social service, and community and group work. Through her experience working with underprividged children, she developed a keen sense of the importance of presenting open-ended projects that promote creativity and individuality and enhance self-esteem.
