About the Author

Born and raised in Detroit, MI, Shan Tolbert has grown into a woman of focus and determination. Though many trials groomed these two dynamics, they are the very things that structure who she is. Raised by a house of single women, her strength, street knowledge, and self-awareness are undeniable in the way she approaches most situations. Shan Tolbert has evolved from a college athlete to an Educator and lastly to fulfilling her childhood dream as an author. In each phase of her life, she has used it to help others just by simply telling the truth. Her first book, They Didn't Tell Us, is the world's first view of that truth.
