A supposed golfing holiday across the Channel becomes something considerably more dangerous when Hugh "Bulldog" Drummond and his friend Peter encounter a frightened man desperately in need of help. His troubles lead them toward Temple Tower, an isolated and ominous house where menace seems to lurk behind every wall and nothing is quite what it appears. Murder, secret passages, mysterious strangers, hidden identities, and the sinister figure known as Le Bossu Masqué draw Drummond into an increasingly dangerous puzzle. As the trail winds through England and France, Drummond must rely on nerve, instinct, and his considerable talent for plunging directly into trouble if he is to expose the truth behind Temple Tower before another victim pays the price.
The sixth adventure in Sapper's celebrated Bulldog Drummond series, Temple Tower combines detective mystery with the fast-moving action and larger-than-life danger that made Hugh Drummond one of the most popular thriller heroes of his era. Dark houses, brutal criminals, concealed motives, and a relentlessly escalating mystery make this a particularly atmospheric entry in the series. Explore other exciting Positronic Books
Herman Cyril McNeile (1888-1937), better known by his pen name Sapper, was a British soldier and enormously popular writer of thrillers and adventure fiction. Educated at the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, he served with the Royal Engineers during the First World War and later drew upon his military experience in his fiction. McNeile achieved his greatest fame with Captain Hugh "Bulldog" Drummond, the former army officer whose appetite for danger places him repeatedly against criminals, conspirators, and international villains. Beginning with Bulldog Drummond in 1920, the series became one of the defining British adventure-thriller sequences of the interwar period. Temple Tower, published in 1929, is the sixth Bulldog Drummond novel.
