About the Authors

David Lindenmayer is a Professor at The Australian National University. He has worked on the conservation of forests and their wildlife for more than 35 years. He has published 45 books and over 1100 scientific papers, and has broad interests in conservation biology, landscape ecology, vertebrate ecology, forest ecology and woodland conservation. He has received numerous awards and is a member of the Australian Academy of Science and an Australian Research Council Laureate Fellow.

Steve Morton is an Honorary Fellow with CSIRO Ecosystem Sciences in Alice Springs. He is an ecologist with a long-standing interest in desert Australia.

Stephen Dovers is a Professor and the Director of the Fenner School of Environment and Society at the Australian National University. He focuses on generic policy and institutional dimensions in environment and sustainability, combining contemporary and historical perspectives across a diverse range of sectors, most of which represent environmental dilemmas with strong justice conflicts.

Molly Hariss Olson is a Director of Eco Futures Pty Ltd, the Convenor of the National Business Leaders Forum on Sustainable Development, and an internationally recognised leader on sustainability.
